Co-curricular Activities

Athletics
At Most High, we believe that competitive sports help our students develop into determined, well rounded global citizens and teach them the grit and determination that gives them the stamina to see things through. We also believe that every girl can find an activity she can become passionate about. Most High is a place where the beginner can dip her toe and try new sports or national competitors can develop further and receive focused academic support. The girls regularly take on new sports and quickly learn the skills needed to not only progress, but to excel in their chosen activity. In the middle school, our aim is to give the opportunity to play on a competitive team for whichever sport they choose. Students are encouraged to have a spirit of adventure and not be afraid to give new sports a try. With over 20 sports to choose from spread across the curriculum and the activities programme, Most High provides the coaching and facilities to keep every student healthy and fit and create the opportunities to further their potential. Throughout their school career every student will have opportunities to represent the school in our various sports teams. Regardless of breadth of choices and opportunities at the core of everything we do is a passion to develop a love of sport and to become a lifelong athlete and participant.

Arts
Imagination, innovation and invention are critical 21st century skills, acquired through the study of one or more of our rigorous visual and performing arts programs. The three disciplines—music, theatre and visual art—provide students with the opportunity to master their aesthetic and performance techniques, while developing confidence in their personal expression and problem-solving skills. An appreciation of the historical context of the arts is a key component, as is theory, design, creation and composition. Our arts courses parallel contemporary ideas and thinking, and prepare our students for further study. Many of our arts graduates pursue artistic majors—including Theatre, Costume Design, Architecture, Fashion Design, Industrial Design, Fine Art and Music—at distinguished universities all over Nigeria. The arts at Most High Schools are taught both within and beyond a traditional studio setting, including co-curricular clubs, activities, exhibitions, field trips, workshops and festivals. The three disciplines are enhanced by opportunities for students to attend live performances, concerts and exhibits at professional theatres, festivals and galleries, as well as to participate in workshops provided by visiting guest artists. Every student of the arts is invited, if she so chooses, to further practice her craftsmanship by partaking in hands-on performance and presentational experiences such as the mounting of a main-stage theatre production; performances through small musical ensembles and concert band; the development of visual art pieces for exhibition at local galleries and museums. Through these enriching opportunities, in which the standard of excellence is set very high, students gain confidence in their ability to reimagine their world through different lenses, while also building a life-long passion for the arts. All artistic disciplines are taught by a trained subject specialist.

Theatre & Music
With professional tutors on board, we take pride in training our students in art forms like dance, drama, painting and more. We organize exhibitions, concerts and musical events to encourage our students to own their talent and flourish in those fields.
